Jason Campo is proud to announce his candidacy for Judge of the 263rd District court of Harris County Texas.
Background
Jason Campo graduated from Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2012. Right as he was about to start his legal career, Jason’s grandmother fell ill. Putting family above all else Jason postponed the law and decided to care for his grandmother. Jason had the privilege of being the caretaker for his grandparents in their sunset years. Putting family first as always, he did not go back to law school until he was 33. Jason became a licensed attorney in the State of Texas in 2015 and started as a prosecutor in Cameron County.
Prior to starting school Jason had a career in food service and management before continuing his education so that he could follow his aspirations of becoming an attorney. Jason’s background has given him a unique perspective on what it means to serve a community and how both defendants and victims may face hardships.
Family has always been the most important part of Jason’s life. Jason and Donny, who have been together 27 years, are currently in the process of adopting a child to grow their family. Jason’s background and commitment to family allows him to bring a wide range of both professional and real life experience to this office.
EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP
Jason served 7 years in the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office focusing his career in Domestic Violence. Jason started as a misdemeanor prosecutor and worked his way all the way up to Chief of the Domestic Violence Division. Jason has presented at national and international trainings as an expert in family violence. Jason has appeared several times on the Nancy Grace True Crime Podcast over the years.
In 2022 Jason took his life to Harris County and began a career as a prosecutor at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. In his time in Harris County he has been part of the Trial Bureau, Crimes Against Children Division, Intake Division, and currently serves as a Felony Chief in the Domestic Violence Bureau. In Jason’s career he has been the lead attorney on cases ranging from misdemeanor to capital murder where he has helped families and victims through some of the most difficult moments in their lives.
